Based in Seven Hills, Brisbane, I’ve been in the Health and Fitness industry for 10 years after changing career from Graphic Design. Throughout my own fitness journey I have suffered some pretty serious injuries that made me take time out, re-evaluate what I was trying to do and look at my strength and self-care. I’ve learnt a lot about the body, in particular the important role of strength work and preparing the body for activity. My aim is to help people to not go through the experiences I have, and to be fit and strong enough to do what they love to do, and function pain free in daily life. The majority of injuries are due to lack of strength, inactive muscles, poor posture, inadequate recovery and poor training techniques. I help to identify these problems and then help you to work on them through release, strength work and knowledge.
I have been lucky enough to work with elite sports teams and athletes such as Brisbane Lions AFL, Hawthorne AFL, Athletics Australia, Queensland Academy of Sport, Queensland Bulls, QLD Under 21 Netball, QLD Over 30 indoor Netball, British Swimming and with various running groups in Brisbane. I have spent the last 6 years travelling internationally with Athletics Australia to training camps and competitions in Europe and Japan, gaining valuable experience on how elite athletes train and recover for their sport.
In recent years I have also expanded into massaging dogs. They have the same aches and pains as we do and benefit greatly from massage, just like you and I! And finally my artwork…I’m a qualified Illustrator but Graphic Design didn’t let me draw and paint so I didn’t do it for years! Then I thought it was sad to not do something I love so much, so I started it again and it has led to quite a few commissions! A nice side line that is totally different to the rest of my day!
